Nowadays, there are countless sneakers of different brands and colors no matter in an offline store or an online shop. It is not easy for men to find the most suitable sneakers among plenty of choices. Whichever shoes they choose, it has to fit from heel to toe and be comfortable.
No matter the running gait, a good pair of sneaker should provide flexibility, durability and support. Each part of a sneaker has a specific purpose and fits the foot in a certain way. Even the slightest difference in usage can affect his experience. A man can choose the right sneaker for himself from five main categories: motion control, cushioning, stability, lightweight and tracking.
1) Men who overpronate can choose motion control sneakers which are designed to reduce or control excessive rolling action of the foot. They can also correct their gait cycle and provide additional shock absorption, and they are usually the rigid type of shoe.
2) Men who underpronate can choose cushioned sneakers. If their feet don’t roll inward enough or outrolls too much. The rolling motion helps their feet absorb the shock of each step that would otherwise be transmitted through their joints to their spines.
3) If a gentleman wants a compromise between motion control and cushioning shoes, he can choose stability sneaker which provides cushioning, medial support and durability. It is designed to stop excessive movement of the foot and ankle without restricting movement too much.
4) Men who don’t want the feeling of heavy shoes can choose lightweight sneakers which are the ideal fitness gear to get them up and moving even when they don’t feel like it. Having shoes that don’t weigh them down is key to a good workout, whether they’re training for a big race or just working out on the treadmill. They may feel that lightweight sneakers are just an extension of their feet. This way, they can keep running without thinking about the road ahead. The ideal lightweight sneaker is cushioned, flexible, and most importantly, comfortable.
5) If men want to experience hiking trails in a new way or they’re urban runners who want to vary the routine, they can choose the trail sneakers. These shoes have special features designed to help them run on a variety of rough terrain, hardpack, softpack, drops, or a combination. Features like Gore-Tex lining, midfoot wrap and raised rubber outsole are common in these types of shoes and they are generally more durable with a more durable upper to protect their feet and keep comfortable on long runs.
Besides the above-mentioned aspects a gentleman should consider when choose the sneaker, he should also remember the following tips:
1) Go to a sneaker specialty store. The salesman will watch his gait and bring a selection of shoes that they think will best suit his needs. They’ll let him try each one out and help him to find the right one.
2) Measure the feet. He may think he knows his size, but his feet change over time, and one model’s fit may be completely different than another’s.
3) When he goes shopping, brings the shoes, socks and liners he has been using. That way, when he tries on a new pair of shoes, he can directly compare it to his current experience.
4) Shoes should be replaced every 300 to 500 miles, depending on brand and model. Record the date he bought them in his training log and note when they start to wear down.
