For 2016, the Limited trim earns fresh suspension dampers for a smoother ride. Limited and Premium trims gain the Security package and Starlink Safety as standard, and lane-keep assist is also added to an EyeSight collision-avoidance system.
Exterior Features
2016 Subaru Outback is among the good-looking cars in its category. It has fully modern look. The redesign starts with size and weight reduction. The 2.5i Premium model also adds dual-zone satellite radio, automatic climate control, and an improved 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system which responds to multi-touch gestures such as swiping and scrolling. The 3.6R Limited models and 2.5i Limited have rear cross traffic alert, blind spot monitoring, and the 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system. Options include navigation, moonroof, proximity key, push-button start and camera-based EyeSight system of Subaru that provides lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control, automatic pre-collision braking that is new for 2016.
Technology
Speaking of technology, there are a few new items in the 2016 Outback added for this model year. Subaru Starlink (a connected car option) adds automatic-crash notification and the Internet-based apps such as Pandora and Stitcher. The lane departure intervention previously mentioned is also new this year’s model. The standard infotainment interface is the 6.2-inch touch-screen in the base model that enhances a seven-inch screen in the following step up (Premium).
